An Ode to Brussels // Travel Diary 002

Before heading to Amsterdam, we made a 7 hour pit stop in Brussels, Belgium.

To be quite honest, the only thing I knew about Brussels was that One Direction performed there a few months back. 
We saw the Manneken Pis (someone please tell me the significance of that statue because I literally can't find one), and went to Grand Place. Apparently Victor Hugo lived in the apartment (3rd image). HOW AWESOME IS THAT? I absolutely loved Les Miserables. 

We walked around, had some pretty bad service paired with mediocre food at a restaurant, ate dark chocolate (YUM) and some belgian waffles. We had some extra time left over and decided to head back to Bruxelles Midi. Btw, shout out to the hotel at the train station for the free bathrooms.
