[VIDEO] My 2021 Goals & journaling prompts for reflection and goal setting

January 3, 2021

Happy New Year!!! Ringing in 2021 with a new video talking about my goals for 2021, some journaling prompts to help reflect on 2020, and prompts to set intentions for 2021.

For some reason, this is one of my favorite videos I've ever done!! It's such a simple straight-forward, sit-down video, but idk just the fact that I'm reflecting on a year that was an absolute mess and not what any of us expected at all and then talking about my goals and dREAMS like :')

Seriously, like I mentioned in the video, the growth that I experienced in 2020 was truly astronomical (lol i love ✨drama✨) and I can't even put that growth into words or confine it into any specific goal. But I did want to share some mini things I did that I believe helped to fuel that growth.

+ I started practicing more gratitude by trying to keep up a daily gratitude journal. I have always felt really thankful and happy for my life, upbringing, situation, etc. and even though it didn't come without multi-generational and personal sacrifices- I know how much privilege I have. But doing a daily gratitude journal...idk it really made everything click for me!! I started to feel true gratitude every single day. IDK HOW TO EXPLAIN IT BUT just this glowing sense of gratitude always overwhelms me and I literally cried in my car once because I was so thankful for everything and everyone in my life. It sounds like something that wouldn't make that much of a difference, but try it out and see how you feel!! If anything, it's always a good reminder that there are positives even on days that you thought were the absolute worst. (but also not in a toxic positivity way. being grateful and positive doesn't mean ignoring all of the injustices and terrible things that are happening in the world because ~we're so lucky to be alive~. It means knowing that we're lucky to be alive but also acknowledging the privilege you may have and doing something with it.)

+ I had a new perspective on my priorities. I'm a fairly career-driven person, and that hasn't changed much throughout 2020. But I did realize that I was slowly being consumed by my work and form of income, and losing touch with what was really important to me (my values, if you will). Working from home meant that the boundaries between work life and home life blurred together, but it also meant I was able to draw new boundaries. My family eats dinner at 3 pm (i know. like. lol what)- and that's sUCH an odd time, but that hour and time is irreplaceable so I'm going to prioritize that and block it off on my calendar.

+ And on a more macro scale- finding my north star and what I care about and want to advocate for has been...wild. It was fueled by a quarter life crisis but figuring out what that was for me has made everything else so much easier.

2020 was a hectic year, but I'm positive you aren't the same person you were at the start of the year. Take some time to sit down and reflect!!

Prompts for Reflection:
1. What would you title this chapter of your life?
2. What were your small and big wins?
3. What are you proud of?
4. What lessons have you learned this year?
5. What are you keeping, growing, and letting go of from this past year?
6. Who and what are you most grateful for?

Now, think about what you want this upcoming year to be like for you.

Prompts for Intentions & Goal Setting:
1. How do you want to feel in 2021?
2. What are you looking forward to?
3. What are you scared of- and how do you want to overcome it?
4. What do you want to learn more about or develop?
5. At the end of the coming year, what is ONE thing you want to have accomplished?
6. If you could wake up embodied as the best version of yourself...describe her.
7. What does this day, next year look like?
8. Write a list of things you want to experience within the upcoming year

And then I share my goals for 2021 in the video!! :) Talk soon!!
